Online Museum Resources

Many museums including the National Gallery here in DC, the Met in New York, and the Getty in Los Angeles are working to create online repositories of information on art and art history, much of which is freely available to you!  Below are some links to online resources provided by museums.

National Gallery of Art

The NGA publications are available to be keyword searched in MULibrary Search.  Follow the instructions below to easily locate NGA content related to a specific artist, time period or movement.

Step 1: Open MULibrary Search

Step 2: Search for "National Gallery of Art" 

             Tip: Be sure to put that the search in quotation marks!

Step 3: Change the search parameters from the default 'Everything' to 'MU Catalog'.  You are now viewing all the materials MU owns or provides digital access to from the NGA.

Step 4: You can add a search term to get more specific results i.e. Monet or water colors or Luminist movement
