Find Articles Using Find it: Using Find-It

Learn how to use the Find it software to get the articles you want.

Using Find it

You've used a database and found citations for articles.  Now you want the articles but don't know where to go. With a few simple clicks in the right places, you'll soon have your articles.  Remember, Marymount Library does NOT have full text access to every article in every database, so your options include getting the article from another library, which may take a few days.

Find it links all our resources together so you can see what we have access to or own.  It will link you to request forms, if the MU library collection does not have the article you need.

From your citation, CLICK on Find it

If your citation does not have a full text option, click on Find It

Find it will open a new window with one of three options

OPTION ONE - LINK TO FULL TEXT FROM ANOTHER DATABASE
Click on the Article link to see the article.

OPTION TWO - LINK TO WRLC CATALOG TO CHECK WHETHER MU OR A CONSORTIUM LIBRARY HAS THE PRINT OR ELECTRONIC VERSION OF THE ARTICLE.

OPTION THREE - LINK TO AN INTERLIBRARY LOAN (ILL) REQUEST FORM TO GET A DOCUMENT FROM A NON-CONSORTIUM LIBRARY

If your search finds nothing in the catalog, click on the link to fill our an Interlibrary Loan form.
