All of Us Researcher Workbench: Gain Access

Overview of the whole process of gaining access

In order to access the Researcher Workbench Registered and Controlled Tiers, users will need to complete a four-step process, including, creating a Researcher Workbench account online, verifying your identity using login.gov, completing the Responsible Conduct of Research Training, and Signing the Data User Code of Conduct. See more information about each step below:

Step 1 – Create a Researcher Workbench Account

  1. Go to the Researcher Workbench log in page and click on "Create Account",
  2. Read and sign the Terms of User and Privacy Statement,
  3. Fill out all required information by selecting Marymount University as your institution, and typing in your Marymount email address, and selecting your role. Go to the next page.
  4. Fill out information for your profile and go to the next page.
  5. Fill out demographic information and complete the process.

Step 2 – Verify your Identity using login.gov

Verify your identity using Login.gov. You may need to provide an SSN and a state-issued ID.

Login.gov is a secure sign in service used by the public to sign in to participating government agencies. Participating agencies will ask you to create a Login.gov account to securely access your information on their website or application.

You can use the same username and password to access any agency that partners with Login.gov. This streamlines your process and eliminates the need to remember multiple usernames and passwords.

Login.gov verifies your identity for the agency. By submitting personal identifiable information (PII), such as your photo ID, you can verify that you are you and not someone pretending to be you. This service only confirms that you are you, and does not make any determination on eligibility for agency services.

This brief set of slides provides additional instructions on completing this step.

Step 3 – Complete the Responsible Conduct of Research Training

This mandatory training, the Responsible Conduct of Research Training provides education on conducting responsible and ethical research with data from All of Us participants.

Step 4 – Sign the Data User Code of Conduct.

The Data User Code of Conduct is an agreement that outlines the program’s expectations for researchers.
