Find Books of Literary Criticism

Use the to search for books on criticism and interpretation of literary works.

To Search by Keyword

To search for literary criticism type Chaucer and the word criticism in the search box. The Keyword search retrieves words and phrases located anywhere (i.e. in titles, subject headings, authors, publication information, table of contents, etc.)

 For additional results, click on a book title that addresses your search terms and look at the Subjects listed in the record. The Subject Headings are a list of predefined terms. For example, Chaucer, Geoffrey, d. 1400--Criticism and interpretation. For some authors you may see a list of numerous headings and you will want to browse through the headings and look at the subdivisions. Click on the subdivisions to view additional titles. For example, Chaucer, Geoffrey, d. 1400--Influence.

Find Articles in MLA

Use MLA to search by title of work or author.

            

When searching by Author, be sure and choose Author
as Subject in the drop down box.

 
To search for articles about Chaucer and a particular
theme, use the Search Options boxes below

Find Articles in Artemis

In Advanced Search, type the title in the Name of
the Work box and Chaucer's name in the Person-
By or About box
 
To search for an article on a theme in Chaucer's work,
select Subject instead of Keyword and type Chaucer's
name in the Person-By or About box

Find Articles In Humanities International Complete

Type Chaucer's name in the first search box and select
People in the drop downbox next to it.  In the second

To search for articles on a theme in Chaucer's works, use
the Thesaurus to select a term and add it to the search,
also using Chaucer's name.
