Introduction

This guide will provide suggestions for tools that help to identify government agencies and nonprofit organizations that publish various types of reports and technical literature. Use the tabs along the top of this research guide to navigate between pages of resources that will be helpful to your project.

Grey Literature (aka gray literature) is generally defined as materials published outside the oversight of commercial publishers of journals and books.

Grey literature can include document types such as conference papers, data files, dissertations, government documents, manuscripts, nonprofit reports, pamphlets, statistical reports, technical reports, clinical trial reports, university reports, working papers, and videos.

Remember there are librarians available to help you with locating materials or conducting research.  The "Help" tab on this guide will connect you to the library via online chat, email, phone or in person.

Search for Documents and Reports

You can search for grey literature and reports in MULibrary Search directly in the search box below.

Your keyword search results can be refined by "Author/Creator" by entering the name of the government or nonprofit organization to find documents by specific issuing agencies. Use the "Advanced Search" link to limit your search to "Material Type: Books" to see types of reports. After entering your keywords, your search results can be refined by "Resource Type" to select various document formats.
